Let's get one thing straight, These are not professional graphic designs. The work I do here is mainly for my own amusement and to hopefully entertain others as well. If you like my work then thank you very much and if you don't, go and look at something else.
I mainly use photoshop because image manipulation is what I really enjoy doing. I don't think I'm creative or talented enough to start with nothing. I usually use a base image and add my own twists to it. The images I choose to manipulate can be wide and varied but there are some self-portrait designs on this site which I intend to be a running theme. Call it my legacy because, let's face it, no one will commission a portrait of me!
I have been working on developing my own style and you will often see repeating themes running through my work. This is not because I have 'run out of ideas' it is simply that, if something looks good, why not do it again? I also feel that it helps my work to progress if I use techniques familiar to me from previous projects but then use new techniques to take it that next step forwards then this is a comfortable way for me to develop.
Now and again friends and family ask me to produce a piece of work and I enjoy the challenge of working to a stricter design brief than just 'go and make a picture'. This forces me to tackle that learning curve to fulfil a brief.
Of course, a lot of the design work I do ends up on websites so you may see crossovers with this and the Web Design section of this site. I try to put up a new piece or two every month but some months get missed. Use the 'Archive' links on the left to view each month's piece. I really hope you enjoy my work.
